With fuel prices holding at $80.00 per barrel of oil, new construction should incorporate alternative forms of energy, such as solar power that has existed for 30 years but used very little in residential real estate. As long as gas, oil and natural gas was cheap, no one really cared to pursure alternate ways to heat our homes, as the cost was usually prohibited, and people forget quickly. Other forms are wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, wood and coal. But who installs these systems and how much do they cost?  Food for thought.
